About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Databricks Developer to join our global manufacturing organization operating across 30+ plants worldwide. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Databricks (with certification), strong proficiency in reporting and analytics tools, and a solid functional understanding of financial and operational reporting in a manufacturing setup.
This role requires close collaboration with the senior line and support management teams, directly contributing to strategic initiatives, business improvement programs, and AI-driven innovation.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytical solutions on the Databricks platform.
β’ Serve as the technical SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Databricks and related data architecture components.
β’ Lead and support reporting initiatives for financial, operational, and manufacturing KPIs across plants.
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders and senior management to define reporting needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
β’ Participate in brainstorming sessions with senior leadership to ideate and develop:
β’ New facility onboarding strategies
β’ Feature enhancements and data model improvements
β’ AI/ML use cases to maximize Databricks adoption and automate reporting
β’ Propose innovative solutions with clear business cases, balancing technology, cost, and impact.
β’ Partner with cross-functional and remote teams to deliver high-quality, timely, and actionable insights.
β’ Ensure data accuracy, governance, and performance optimization across all Databricks environments.
β’ Support continuous improvement initiatives for enterprise data architecture and analytics maturity.
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
β’ Databricks Certified Data Engineer / Data Analyst / Machine Learning certification (required).
β’ Additional certifications in Azure, AWS, or GCP data platforms preferred.
Experience:
β’ 8+ years of total experience in data engineering or advanced analytics roles.
β’ 3+ years hands-on experience with the Databricks platform (Delta Lake, Spark, MLflow, Unity Catalog, etc.).
β’ Proven experience working with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
β’ Strong understanding of financial and operational reporting, including manufacturing KPIs (e.g., OEE, cost analysis, production efficiency, variance reporting, etc.).
β’ Demonstrated success in data-driven business transformation projects within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
β’ Experience collaborating with remote and cross-functional teams across time zones.
Skills:
β’ Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark.
β’ Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance.
β’ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
β’ Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business outcomes.
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
β’ Exposure to AI/ML and predictive analytics is a plus.
