Role: Senior Data Engineer
Location: New York, NY (hybrid 3x/week)
Rates: $40 to $65, depending on experience and type of contract (1099 or W2)
Qualifications:
• +5 years of experience in Data Engineering
• Strong proficiency with Python and Snowflake
Responsibilities:
• Design and optimize Snowflake data models to support analytics and downstream consumption, applying advanced SQL techniques while balancing performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Own data pipelines end-to-end, building reliable Python-based ETL/ELT workflows, implementing orchestration, monitoring, retries, and proactive data quality checks.
• Drive performance tuning and operational excellence, troubleshooting slow queries and pipelines, optimizing warehouse usage, and continuously improving reliability and throughput.
• Implement data security, governance, and compliance controls, managing access policies, protecting sensitive data, and operating within regulated or financial data environments.
