Role description
Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Consultant with strong architecture and hands-on technical skills to lead analytics and data engineering projects. The ideal candidate will architect end-to-end solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Synapse Analytics, drive the development of impactful dashboards (such as inventory reporting), and guide data teams in extracting and shaping data from SAP for business-critical use cases.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Lead the design and architectural development of comprehensive data analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, and Power BI.
β’ Engage directly with business stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements; translate those into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
β’ Direct and mentor a team of junior data engineers and Power BI developers throughout all project phases, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
β’ Oversee and contribute hands-on to project tasks, splitting time approximately 50/50 between architecture/design and implementation/coding.
β’ Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from SAP (including ECC and S/4HANA) systemsβleveraging CDC or Table connectors as needed.
β’ Build robust data models and create interactive dashboards/reports in Power BI, with a particular focus on inventory, finance, manufacturing, and order management use cases.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to create an inventory dashboard by sourcing, validating, and modeling required SAP data.
β’ Stay ahead of data migration and integration trends, supporting future movement from ECC to S/4HANA.
β’ Serve as the primary point of contact for all project communication and technical guidance.
β’ Manage project timelines, risks, and deliverables from end to end.
Required Qualifications:
β’ Extensive hands-on experience architecting and implementing analytics/data engineering solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse Analytics.
β’ Advanced proficiency designing Power BI solutions as an architect; able to deliver reporting frameworks and dashboards that scale.
β’ Solid experience with SAP data extraction and integration concepts, ideally working with both ECC and S/4HANA (experience with CDC connector for S4, Table connectors for ECC appreciated).
β’ Capable of hands-on coding and technical execution (SQL, DAX, dataflow orchestration) in tandem with high-level architectural duties.
β’ Demonstrated ability to drive projects from requirements analysis through to deliveryβleading the team and setting technical direction.
β’ Prior experience integrating SAP financial, manufacturing, and order data into Azure cloud data lake architectures.
β’ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements for the team.
