Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer - Contract - Inside IR35 - London A leading global organisation is undertaking a major back-office transformation and has established a new Divisional Data Team to deliver an enterprise-wide data platform. They are now looking for two Senior Data Engineers to join on an initial 6-month contract, playing a key role in building a brand-new data warehouse from scratch. This is a high-impact role working directly with the AVP of Data Engineering, with the opportunity to shape architecture, pipelines, and delivery standards across the division. Role Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Snowflake, DBT, and SQL • Translate BA and business requirements into technical specifications • Build and enhance transformation layers within a new enterprise data warehouse • Work closely with ingestion and visualisation teams to ensure smooth, accurate data flow • Support CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps • Participate in code reviews, testing, and overall quality assurance • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the wider business Experience Required: • Strong SQL skills and hands-on data engineering experience • Proven experience with Snowflake and DBT (Cloud or Core) • Solid understanding of data modelling, curation, and transformation best practices • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar) • Ability to work across end-to-end data engineering workflows • Insurance experience is essential Contract Details: • Inside IR35 - £600per day • 6-month contract with scope to extend • Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite in London (Wednesday required) • Start date: ASAP If you're interested in joining a greenfield data environment and making a real impact from day one, please send your CV to max.reardon@oliverjames.com with the subject "Senior Data Engineer - Apply."
