Role description
Duration: FTE
Location: MN-Minneapolis, PA- Philadelphia, or MO-St. Louis, Hybrid 3-4 days onsite
Overview: Turnberry Solutions is a business and technology consulting firm that believes brilliant strategy only matters when paired with excellent execution. Through a deep understanding of each client's challenges and opportunities, we deliver tailored solutions and premium talent for sustainable, meaningful, and fearless growth. With offerings in business excellence, digital design and build, platforms of innovation and AI, data and insights, we set the best teams, technologies, and solutions in motion.
As a Senior Consultant on our Cloud Solutions team, you'll lead data engineering workstreams that build and optimize pipelines and platforms across Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Snowflake — helping clients modernize how they store, move, and use data as part of our Data-as-a-Service on Cloud Data Platforms offering. You'll estimate, plan, and execute project phases, manage day-to-day client engagement on your workstream, and serve as a trusted advisor to client mid-level management and partners on data architecture and delivery decisions. You'll also lead and coach a small team of engineers, owning escalation and technical risk on the work you deliver. Healthcare and PBM experience is a strong plus as you help clients across industries unlock more value from their cloud data investments.
Responsibilities
• Lead data engineering workstreams end to end across Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and other cloud environments — estimating, planning, and executing project phases
• Own the design and delivery of ingestion, transformation, and data modeling layers, setting the standards the team builds to for reliability, testing, and performance
• Manage day-to-day client engagement on assigned work, serving as a trusted advisor to client mid-level management and partners on data architecture and delivery trade-offs
• Act as the point of escalation and issue owner for your workstream, anticipating and mitigating technical and delivery risk before it surfaces
• Lead a small team of engineers day to day, coaching Associates, Senior Associates, and Consultants and giving direct feedback on their work
• Establish data quality, governance, and observability practices as a standard part of delivery rather than an afterthought
• Drive cost and performance optimization decisions across compute and storage, and make the recommendation to the client
• Partner with architects and analysts to shape ambiguous client requirements into a workable, production-grade delivery plan
• Own documentation and knowledge transfer so clients can operate delivered solutions independently after handoff
Qualifications
• 6+ years in data engineering, including production delivery on modern cloud data platforms
• Hands-on depth with one or more of Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Snowflake, and the judgment to choose between them
• Strong SQL and Python, with deep grounding in data modeling and pipeline orchestration
• Experience delivering on AWS or Azure, including CI/CD, version control, and automated testing applied to data engineering
• Track record leading a workstream or small delivery team, including coaching junior engineers
• Proven ability to own client relationships at the mid-management level and act as a trusted technical advisor in a consulting or client-facing delivery setting
• Healthcare or PBM domain experience is a plus
The salary range for this role is $140,000 to $170,000 or the hourly equivalent. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Turnberry Solutions offers benefits such as a comprehensive healthcare package (medical, dental, vision), disability and group term life insurance, health and flexible spending accounts, a utilization bonus, 401(k) with match, flexible time off for salaried employees, parental leave for salaried employees, and flexible work arrangements (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with Turnberry, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives.
