Role description
Senior Data Engineer
Location: Manchester/London
Role Type: Contract - 12 months
Work Setup: Hybrid - 3 days a week Tuesday to Thursday

What you'll do:
• Build ELT pipelines, from source to presentation of data to our internal customers.
• Learn new technologies and solve data problems with guidance from senior dev and engineers
• Write high-quality, readable code; contribute to code reviews, solution design, testing, documentation, and other tasks throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with developers, scrum master, and product owner to enable a strong client experience
• Drive continuous improvement of technical standards, methodologies, and processes
• Own deployments and operations across development, test, and production environments
• Participate in agile meetings aligned to the scrum framework: sprint planning, daily scrums, reviews, and retrospectives
What you bring:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, STEM, or a related discipline is a plus, but not required
• 1-2 years' experience as a data engineer (or related role), with strong Python and SQL skills
• Cloud experience in AWS (preferred), including data transformation using PySpark, Pandas, or similar
• Infrastructure as Code experience using CloudFormation or Terraform
• Solid understanding of development best practices, including testing, code quality, and consistency
• Experience working in agile environments (Scrum preferred) with strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong desire to continuously learn and grow both technically and professionally
