Role description
Duration: 6 month contract to hire Location: Fully remote Conversion Salary: $140-160k/year Must Haves: โ€ข 6+ yearsโ€™ experience as a Data Engineer โ€ข Strong background as a Python programming โ€ข Strong recent experience using Databricks and Data Factory โ€ข Strong recent experience doing system analysis, technical design, and refinements of complex user stories โ€ข Prior experience working with the business to gather requirements for user stories / 2nd line of support to the business and be capable of forming a backlog โ€ข Experience contributing to the development of data lake ETL \ ELT solutions using Python and Azure Cloud (PaaS) Services โ€ข Strong communication skills โ€ข Experience in the insurance or finance industry Day to Day: Insight Global is looking for a Data Engineer / Python Developer to sit remote (EST) for a large Reinsurance client. This developer will be joining the Enterprise Data and AI Services team. They will be the only member of the team in the U.S. and will be responsible for empowering the organization with modern data and AI tools, technologies, and workflows. This role will spend 15% of their time working with the business, answering questions, be the go-to person if something goes wrong in the environment, gathering specific requirements for a user story thatโ€™s not fully refined or anything else that comes up. The other 20% of their role will be technical refinement of user stories and supporting the technical. The last 65% of their role will be development and system testing. This person will need strong development skills with Python on Databricks platform, along with exposure to Data Factory and GitHub. Ideally, this person is also coming from an Azure environment.
