Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Java / Spark / Scala Developer to join our team in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development experience in Java, Apache Spark, and Scala, with a passion for building scalable, high-performance data processing applications. Knowledge of AI/ML concepts will be considered a strong advantage. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java, Scala, and Apache Spark • Build and optimize large-scale data processing pipelines • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and technical requirements • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices • Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance application performance • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities • Contribute to architecture and design discussions for data-intensive applications Required Skills & Experience • 5–8 years of software development experience • Strong hands-on expertise in Java • Strong experience with Apache Spark • Solid programming skills in Scala • Experience in developing and optimizing distributed data processing applications • Good understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and code quality • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Excellent communication and teamwork skills Preferred / Nice to Have • Exposure to AI / Machine Learning concepts or projects • Experience working in data engineering or big data environments • Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern data architectures is a plus Why Join Us? • Opportunity to work on challenging and scalable technology solutions • Collaborative and innovative work environment • Exposure to modern data and AI-driven technologies • Career growth opportunities within a dynamic team
