Senior Data Engineer – AWS | Snowflake | Data Architecture Location: Fully Remote Type: Contract We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and build scalable, cloud-native data platforms that power enterprise analytics and decision-making. If you’re passionate about architecting modern data ecosystems and building high-performance data pipelines — we want to talk to you. ⭐ What You’ll Do • Architect and implement scalable distributed data processing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, data virtualization, semi-structured repositories). • Build automated ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, or Airflow. • Design data models, semantic layers, and metadata structures that support enterprise analytics. • Optimize Snowflake performance, data sharing models, and cloud cost efficiency. • Implement CI/CD automation using Terraform and modern DevOps practices. • Lead data governance, standards, architecture best practices, and system performance improvements. • Troubleshoot, optimize, and ensure reliability across complex data environments. 🎯 Top Skills We’re Looking For • Data Architecture & Modeling (Dimensional Modeling, Normalization, Semantic Layering) • Cloud & Data Platform Engineering: AWS, Snowflake, Terraform • ETL/ELT Development & Orchestration: Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Airflow ✨ Nice to Have • Data analytics or dashboarding experience • Background in Animal Health or Healthcare data 🛠 Technical Expertise • Hadoop ecosystem: MapReduce, Spark, Hive, Presto, Pig • SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) • Python or similar languages • NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) • Data warehousing methodology • API-driven integrations
