Compensation Expectation: $60 – 80/hr DOE
What You'll Do As a Data Engineer:
• Participate in key digital transformation initiatives and code modernization
• Work on workflow automation and process improvement
• Participate in the design and architecture of new systems and solutions and contribute to discussions on best practices and technical strategies
• Collaborate with team members in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code review
• Lead data migration from Bloomberg to Charles River
Qualifications:
You could be a great fit if you have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• Strong background in database development using SQL and ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow, etc.)
• Strong understanding of database modeling, data warehouse concepts, and best practices
• Understanding of modern software architecture, with respect to API integration, cloud services, and containerization
• Demonstrated experience developing applications in Python or C# (.Net Core)
• Proficiency with batch automation orchestration using scripting languages such as PowerShell and Unix bash
• Practitioner of Agile methodology and familiarity with DevOps and ITSM platforms (Azure DevOps and Jira Service Management)
• Experience designing and building in depth workflows, systems, writing in-depth requirements, proof of concept, product road mapping / future state vision
• Comfortable with reviewing and understanding code developed in VB.Net and Excel VBA
• Nice-to-have:
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Power Platform (Fabric, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
• Financial Industry / Investment Management experience
