This is a long-term contract opportunity (12 months+) at the centre of a large-scale modernisation initiative. The programme focuses on migrating complex legacy data platforms into secure, scalable, cloud-based environments, enabling high-quality, data-driven decision-making across the business. You will play a key role in delivering robust, well-governed migration solutions within a regulated environment. What you’ll be doing β€’ Lead end-to-end data migration activities from discovery and analysis through to build, validation, and deployment. β€’ Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across on-premise and Azure-based platforms. β€’ Perform detailed source-to-target data mapping, defining transformation rules, derivations, and reconciliation logic. β€’ Analyse complex legacy datasets where documentation may be limited. β€’ Conduct comprehensive data profiling and support data quality remediation. β€’ Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear, structured technical specifications. β€’ Develop, optimise, and troubleshoot advanced SQL solutions. β€’ Contribute to data warehouse and analytics platform design and enhancement. β€’ Support CI/CD implementation and automated testing practices within an Agile delivery environment. β€’ Produce and maintain high-quality technical and mapping documentation. About you We recognise that exceptional candidates bring diverse experience β€” if this role excites you, we encourage you to apply. You will bring: β€’ Extensive experience delivering large-scale data migration programmes, ideally within financial services or other regulated environments. β€’ Deep expertise across the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, T-SQL) and modern Azure data services. β€’ Strong Azure engineering capability including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake, Fabric and Power BI. β€’ Advanced SQL skills (T-SQL and/or PL/SQL). β€’ Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, dimensional modelling and BI principles. β€’ Experience working within Agile environments with exposure to DevOps and automated deployment practices. β€’ Excellent stakeholder communication skills and the ability to work autonomously. Nice to have: β€’ Experience integrating with or migrating data to Salesforce or other similar CRMs β€’ Exposure to or experience in data architecture and solution design, including data modelling and platform design decisions. Why join? β€’ Long-term contract engagement (12 months+) with strong programme continuity. β€’ Work on a high-profile banking data transformation initiative. β€’ Tackle complex, enterprise-scale migration challenges. β€’ Collaborate with experienced data and technology professionals. β€’ Immediate shortlisting and interview availability.
