Senior Data Pipeline Engineer - Financial Trading Firm

Contract - Senior Data Pipeline Engineer FinTech / Trading | London | Hybrid (3 days in Office) Up to £850/day Duration: 12 months+ I’m working with a global trading firm looking for a Senior Data Pipeline Engineer to help build and scale their enterprise data platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing robust data pipelines, owning production systems, and enabling reliable data for analytics and trading teams. Key focus: • Design and build Python-based ETL/ELT pipelines using Dagster • Integrate data from trading systems, APIs, databases, and third-party sources • Develop batch and real-time pipelines using Kafka • Land curated datasets into AWS-backed data platforms • Improve data validation, lineage, monitoring, and operational reliability • Contribute to the evolution of the enterprise data platform Looking for: • Strong experience building production-grade Python data pipelines • Hands-on experience with Dagster (or similar orchestration tools) • Experience with Kafka and event-driven data architectures • Strong SQL and data modelling skills • Experience operating data pipelines in AWS environments • Solid understanding of CI/CD, version control, and production support Must haves: experience with Snowflake, dbt, Terraform, or financial markets / trading.
