New Exciting Opportunity for Senior Data Scientist Location: Coventry (Hybrid Working) Contract Duration: 6 Months IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead the design and delivery of advanced AI and machine learning solutions that address complex business challenges. This role requires a strategic thinker who can quickly grasp business problems, translate them into scalable data-driven solutions, and deliver production-grade models using modern cloud platforms. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the model lifecycle while driving best practices in governance, explainability, and operational excellence within an agile delivery environment. Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience Education & Experience • Minimum BSc in a STEM field (Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, AI or similar). MSc or PhD strongly preferred. • 3–5+ years of professional experience in data science with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions. • Strong understanding of CRISP-DM methodology, MLOps principles, Agile delivery, and ITIL (or similar frameworks). • Recognised as a thought leader in AI/ML within previous roles or professional communities. Core Technical Skills • Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL. • Strong software engineering practices including modular design, testing, CI/CD, and version control. • Deep expertise across ML techniques such as: • Ensemble methods • NLP • Time-series forecasting • Deep learning • Strong understanding of model interpretability, fairness, and responsible AI frameworks. • Advanced statistical modelling, causal inference, and experimental design (A/B testing). • Strong Azure experience (Azure ML, Azure Synapse). • Experience with containerisation tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Familiarity with MLflow or similar model tracking tools.
