Senior Data Scientist 6 Month Contract - Inside IR35 We are supporting a confidential client in the search for a Senior Data Scientist to join a high-performing data and AI team. This is a senior, hands-on role where you will lead the design and delivery of AI solutions, advanced analytics and automation projects across multiple industries. You will operate at the intersection of data science, business strategy and technology, helping organisations unlock real value from complex data while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the growth of the wider data science capability. Key responsibilities • Lead end-to-end AI, advanced analytics and automation engagements from discovery through to production deployment • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including consultants, engineers and client stakeholders • Design and implement machine learning models, statistical analyses and AI-driven solutions tailored to business needs • Contribute to business development activities including proposal writing, solution design and client presentations • Mentor and coach junior data scientists and analysts • Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies across AI, ML and data science Required experience and skills • Strong experience managing the full AI project lifecycle, from research and prototyping to production deployment • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • Hands-on experience with advanced analytics techniques for structured data using Python • Experience with modern AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras or Hugging Face • Deep understanding of machine learning and natural language processing, particularly for unstructured data • Experience working with foundation models and large language models • Experience architecting and delivering AI solutions using modern development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Amazon CodeWhisperer • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services including Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP or equivalent environments • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases including SQL, Postgres, DB2 or MongoDB Nice to have • Experience in specialised areas such as NLP, image processing, video processing, voice processing or similar AI technologies • Familiarity with modern UI frameworks including React, Angular, Backbone, Ember, Bootstrap or jQuery • Experience working across multiple operating systems including Linux, Windows, iOS and Android • PhD or equivalent experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field This role suits a senior data scientist who enjoys leading complex AI engagements, staying hands-on technically, and working closely with clients, without the visibility of a household-name brand.
