Senior Data Scientist (ML & Operational Analytics) | Fortune 500 Utility Client We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a Fortune 500–level organisation specialising in operational analytics and machine learning. If you have 5+ years of experience applying advanced statistics and ML to large-scale, real‑world data—and enjoy turning complex data into business‑ready insights—this is a strong opportunity to make impact in a hybrid role based in Washington, DC. What You’ll Do: • Apply the scientific method to extract insights from time‑series (IoT, smart‑grid), structured, and unstructured data • Build, validate, and deploy machine learning models (regression, classification, time‑series) for operational use cases • Perform data preparation, feature engineering, and ensure end‑to‑end data quality • Analyse big and small data sets (terabytes to petabytes) using advanced statistics and ML techniques • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, information architects, and program managers • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, business‑friendly insights to support decision‑making • Validate results with business partners and plan smooth handover of deployed solutions • Act as a subject matter expert in AI, ML, data mining, and data manipulation/storage • Share knowledge with team members, business stakeholders, and IT partners What You Bring: • MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative field • 5+ years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on operational analytics • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and modern ML libraries • Strong foundation in probability, statistical inference, regression, and experimental design • Hands‑on experience collecting, cleansing, standardising, and analysing data from multiple sources • Ability to communicate technical insights clearly to non‑technical audiences • Collaborative mindset with strong problem‑solving and analytical skills 📍 Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid) 💵 Pay: $75 – $80/hour.
