Role description
A client of Insight Global is hiring a Senior Data Scientist.
Summary:
The Leads team under our Enterprise Data & Analytics team is growing, and we’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to contribute to our growth as a bank to support M&A transactions from a customer experience, communication and retention standpoint. This is a highly strategic position that will work cross-functionally with our Integration Management Office, Marketing, and IT partners to deliver legally & regulatorily required notifications to customers and create personalized journeys to ease transitions as we welcome them to the Huntington Brand. They’ll be responsible for the identification and wrangling of entirely new data to the client, and own the process throughout.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Performs advanced analytics methods to extract value from business data.
· Utilizes customer data from new M&A transactions to apply regulatory requirements to customer audiences
· Creates highly customized targeted audiences of customers to communicate to through various channels through collaborative discussions with stakeholders involving complex, ever changing criteria.
· Performs large-scale experimentation and build data-driven models to answer business questions.
· Articulates a vision and roadmap for the exploitation of data as a valued corporate asset.
· Influences product teams through presentation of data-based recommendations.
· Evangelizes best practices to analytics and products teams.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
· Master’s Degree in computer science, statistics, economics or related fields
· 3+ years of work experience in machine learning or cloud computing, experience using statistics and machine learning to solve complex business problems, experience conducting statistical analysis with advanced statistical software, experience scripting languages, and packages, experience with audience targeting and customer population segmentation and identification, and experience with big data analysis tools and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Up-to-date knowledge of machine learning and data analytics tools and techniques
· Experience with financial services M&A transactions, preferably through audience targeting, or marketing
· Experienced at leveraging both structured and unstructured data sources
· Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
· Demonstrated ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks while meeting aggressive timelines
· Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on outcomes
· Professional persona with the ability to form relationships across functions
· Strong experience with SAS (preferred), R/RStudio or Python are also beneficial
· Strong experience querying complex finance service data utilizing SQL
· Experience with Cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
· Strong understanding of statistical methods and skills such as Bayesian Networks Inference, linear and non-linear regression, hierarchical, mixed models/multi-level modeling
