Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Scientist to support the development and optimization of advanced machine learning models focused on large-scale text analysis. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful, real-world applications in a collaborative environment. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, and candidates must be eligible for full-time conversion.
Key Responsibilities
• Train, fine-tune, and evaluate deep learning models, with a focus on NLP and transformer-based architectures.
• Process, clean, and analyze large-scale structured and unstructured text datasets.
• Troubleshoot model performance, optimize hyperparameters, and improve training pipelines.
• Run experiments and clearly document findings, results, and recommendations.
• Deploy and maintain models within a cloud-based (AWS) environment using established workflows.
• Collaborate with technical leads and cross-functional stakeholders while operating independently on day-to-day execution.
Required Qualifications
• Python programming experience, including hands-on work with PyTorch and transformer-based models.
• Experience building, training, and debugging deep learning models for text-based applications.
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, statistics, and exploratory data analysis.
• Experience working in AWS environments and using GitHub-based workflows.
• Communication skills and ability to operate independently.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, or emerging AI approaches.
• Familiarity with PySpark or large-scale data processing frameworks.
• Experience with MLOps tools and experiment tracking platforms.
• Exposure to healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated environments.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $65.00 and $70.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and experience.
