Senior Database Developer

Senior Database Developer | Remote | $60-$75p/h • No C2C • We’re seeking a Senior Database Developer to design, build, and optimize modern database solutions that power critical business systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on tackling large-scale data challenges, leading cloud migrations, and leveraging Microsoft Fabric and SQL Server to deliver secure, high-performing, and future-ready platforms. What You’ll Do • Architect and develop scalable database solutions with Microsoft Fabric and SQL Server. • Build, implement, and optimize ETL packages, stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions using Fabric Pipelines, Data Flows, and Notebooks. • Lead cloud database migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss. • Design logical and physical ERDs and unify data from diverse sources into seamless models. • Analyze and optimize performance with advanced query tuning and execution plan analysis. • Automate deployments with Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines. • Ensure data security and compliance while documenting database designs and processes. • Mentor junior developers and share best practices across the team. • Stay current with database innovations and recommend new approaches. What You’ll Bring • 7+ years in database development with deep expertise in SQL Server and ETL design/build. • 1+ year hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Pipelines, Data Flows, Service Bus, Airflows, Notebooks). • Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and migration strategies. • Proven experience with cloud database platforms and data warehousing/BI solutions. • Proficiency in T-SQL programming, stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning. • Experience with SSIS and other ETL/ELT tools. • Familiarity with Agile/SDLC methodologies. • Strong documentation skills (functional and technical specifications). • Excellent communication, mentoring, and problem-solving abilities. • Certifications in Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, or cloud platforms are a plus. • Experience with Azure and ADO pipelines is highly desirable.
