Senior Database Developer - FinTech - 12 Month Renewable Contract

We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer / Database Developer to help build the next-generation data platform on AWS for a well-funded, enterprise-scale organization in the financial services space. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you’ll design and deliver core database components, collaborate across globally distributed teams, and shape how data products get built, tested, and supported. What you’ll be doing • Design and develop database solutions that power business-critical analytics and operational workflows. • Build high-quality solutions aligned to a defined technology blueprint and best practices, from design to development to support. • Partner closely with stakeholders to iterate on requirements, manage expectations, and communicate trade-offs clearly. • Provide technical direction within a global team (US and India collaboration). • Participate in code/design reviews and knowledge sharing, and help drive improvements in engineering quality. Must-have / core strengths • 6+ years building with Oracle SQL + PL/SQL (Oracle 12c strongly preferred). • Informatica development experience. • Snowflake experience and Python for data-focused development. • Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, Lambda, EMR, S3) • Strong quality mindset: QA skills and acceptance test-driven development. Nice-to-haves • Unix / shell scripting basics. • Agile/iterative delivery experience. • Someone who naturally takes ownership, enjoys solving messy problems, and can independently drive to resolution. What success looks like • You can take a vague requirement, ask the right questions, and produce a clean design. • You deliver robust PL/SQL and data pipelines that are testable, supportable, and scalable. • You improve reliability and performance while modernizing toward a cloud-first roadmap. • You’re a strong collaborator who can work across time zones and stakeholder groups.
