DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Senior Databricks Architect to lead the design and implementation of modern data platforms on Azure. This role will play a critical part in large‑scale data modernization initiatives, building scalable, high‑performance analytics solutions using Databricks and medallion architecture. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, hands‑on architecture experience, and a proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams. This is a remote role with preference to sit in New York City, NY. Candidates can be local to NYC or will be required to travel to NYC occasionally as required.
MUST HAVE:
• 7+ years experience with Azure, including Azure Databricks and related data services.
• Proven experience delivering data modernization projects, particularly migrating from on‑prem or legacy systems to cloud platforms.
• Demonstrated experience building and operationalizing medallion architecture using Databricks.
• Previous team lead or technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and leading solution design.
• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, distributed data processing, and cloud‑native architectures.
• Familiarity with enterprise data governance, compliance, and security requirements.
NICE TO HAVE:
• Recognition as a Databricks Champion.
• Databricks certifications (e.g., Data Engineer, Data Architect).
• Experience working in the financial services or financial industry.
