Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior DBA in Salt Lake City, UT. Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and versatile Senior Cloud Database Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-grade database solutions across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and hybrid environments. Key Responsibilities:
β’ Architect and manage scalable, secure databases across OCI, AWS, and hybrid environments
β’ Lead implementation and optimization of Oracle ExaCC and GoldenGate replication strategies
β’ Design and maintain active-active and global database architectures (e.g., Aurora Global, Oracle RAC)
β’ Define and enforce database security policies in collaboration with Enterprise Security
β’ Establish and maintain RTO/RPO standards across platforms
β’ Oversee patching, upgrades, and performance tuning for Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, and QLIK environments
β’ Collaborate with cloud engineers, developers, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust database solutions
β’ Serve as a technical advisor for strategic projects involving database decisions
β’ Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex database incidents
β’ Mentor and guide junior and mid-level DBAs
β’ Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal data governance standards
β’ Participate in capacity planning, forecasting, and synthetic testing for performance assurance
β’ Support integration of QLIK and other analytics platforms with enterprise databases
β’ Engineer and administer cloud-native services: RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL), Aurora, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Redshift, and Redis (ElastiCache)
β’ Perform database-related data fixes and deployments
β’ Provide metrics and reports related to database operations and performance
β’ Receive and resolve database-related incidents and service requests
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve database outages
β’ Participate in a 24/7/365 On-Call rotation
Requirements
β’ Proven experience with Oracle ExaCC, Oracle DBA, AWS PostgreSQL, AWS MySQL, AWS RDS, MSSQL, and Aurora Global Database
β’ Hands-on experience with cloud-native database services and performance tuning
β’ Deep technical expertise in Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC), AWS RDS, Aurora Global Database, and active-active architectures, along with a strong ability to collaborate across engineering, security, and infrastructure teams
β’ Strong understanding of active-active datastore architectures and replication strategies
β’ Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
β’ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
