We are seeking a Sr. Developerto help our direct client. This is a hybrid position. Must live within 50 miles of Baltimore, MD, or Wilmington, DE.We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our clientβs Credit Execution team. The individual will play a critical role in transitioning an on-premise decisioning stack to a modernized, cloud-native implementation, as well as support implementation engagements for loans decisioning across a multitude of use cases. This transformation will be executed incrementally, enabling the continuous realization of business objectives across the development lifecycle, testing, and deployment improvements.
Responsibilities:
β’ Collaborate with teams in technology, credit risk, and product to execute the modernization roadmap.
β’ Become proficient in the existing decision engine architecture and business workflows, leading enhancement initiatives and code improvements.
β’ Assess and pinpoint opportunities for optimization during the platform's transition to its intended target state.
β’ Lead technical conversations and suggest upgrades that support smooth modernization.
Requirements:
β’ Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related statistical field.
β’ 10+ yearsβ experience in financial services involved with strategy-based decisioning platforms.
β’ Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to work across a modern tech stack, as well as open source and off-the-shelf rule engine offerings.
β’ 8+ years of programming experience (Java, Python, etc.) with a strong fundamental understanding of data structures, and experience working with complex datasets.
β’ Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and programming in Java, SQL and JSON to support design and implementation tasks.
β’ DevOps experience in a cloud environment.
β’ Proven experience in modernizing enterprise systems to cloud-native architectures.
β’ Proficient in Agile methodologies and incremental delivery approaches.
β’ Expertise with decision engines/rule-based systems.
β’ Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ MUST live within 50 miles of Baltimore, MD or Wilmington, DE office.
β’ Prior exposure to data build tool (dbt) is preferred.
