Role description
Title: Senior Developer (Equity Product Development)
Location: London, UK (on-site mandatory; min. 3 days/week in office)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Overview Insight Global is looking for a Senior Developer to join the Equity Product Development team, delivering new index configurations, methodologies and calculations across two business-as-usual platforms. The team translates complex business and index rules into accurate, performant, testable software, working in a Scrum delivery model. The core stack is SQL Server (~50%), C#.NET (~30%), Angular (~10–20%) and Python for testing (~10%)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Work directly with business stakeholders and SMEs to understand index methodologies and rules
• Build accurate, performant, testable implementations across two BAU platforms
• Deliver across scope including ETF Connect and composite-index support, a blended/multi-asset capped index, capping-methodology improvements, the Investability index series, and onboarding of new attributes
• Carry out occasional Angular UI work (roughly quarterly) and rare legacy support
• Apply careful impact analysis when working in a large, database-centric monolithic codebase
• Take assigned stories end-to-end through to production, with strong self-testing and code quality
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to story/acceptance-criteria refinement
Must-Haves
• 5–10 years of commercial software development
• Strong SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, query/performance tuning)
• Solid C#.NET development
• Python for automated/component testing
• Proven ability to translate complex business/calculation rules into testable software
• Disciplined automated testing (unit and component coverage)
• Comfortable in a monolithic, database-heavy system with multiple interdependencies
Plusses
• Angular UI development
• Financial Markets (Equity) / Index Services domain knowledge
• Index methodology or calculation-engine experience
• Agentic AI tooling (e.g. GitHub Copilot) for development and test-case acceleration
• Light exposure to legacy Sybase/Java
