Role description
Title: Senior Developer Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid) Duration: 12 Months Interview Type: Either Webcam Interview or In Person NC-DHHS is seeking a Senior mainframe developer to provide support for multiple efforts in NC FAST and legacy Child Welfare applications. • NC FAST is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to support several mission-critical systems and processes. • This role will provide technical expertise for ongoing interface operations, inquiry-only applications, the Child Placement and Payment System (CPPS), and Central Registry applications for the Child Welfare program. • Additionally, the position will support PATH NC Data Conversion activities. • Primary responsibilities include leading data conversion efforts and implementing application enhancements based on evolving business needs. • The developer will diagnose and resolve application issues and provide production support using technologies such as CICS, COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM, stored procedures, and other supporting mainframe tools. • This role also involves senior-level business and systems analysis, modeling and design, and programming using COBOL, CICS, and DB2. • Duties include participating in effort estimation, consulting and planning for system modifications and enhancements, and monitoring technical activities to ensure alignment with schedules, milestones, and deliverables. • The developer will also provide regular status updates, time reporting, and ensure quality assurance and compliance with state, departmental, and divisional standards. Please note: • This position requires on-call availability for nightly batch processes, including both weekdays and weekends.
