Role description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps & Connected Vehicle Engineer to lead the development, deployment, and management of cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure supporting connected vehicle technologies. This role involves designing scalable, reliable, and secure systems utilizing a broad range of enterprise software, cloud platforms, and automation tools. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in DevOps practices, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and connected vehicle systems integration, ensuring seamless operation of complex IT infrastructure and connected vehicle solutions.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, OpenStack, and VMware to support connected vehicle applications.
Develop and automate deployment pipelines utilizing CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, TFS, and GitHub to streamline software releases.
Manage containerization and orchestration environments with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and related tools for scalable microservices deployment.
Configure and optimize enterprise middleware including Weblogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss, and related application servers.
Implement robust security measures including firewall management, identity & access management (IAM), cloud security protocols, and incident response strategies.
Monitor system performance using tools such as New Relic, Splunk, Elasticsearch, and Log analysis to ensure high availability and reliability.
Develop scripts for automation using PowerShell, Bash (Unix shell), Python, Groovy, Perl, Ruby on Rails, C#, C++, Node.js for system administration and troubleshooting.
Manage databases including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle with expertise in SQL/PLSQL/T-SQL for data integrity and disaster recovery planning.
Collaborate with development teams to support software development processes involving Agile methodologies like Scrum; facilitate requirements gathering and release management.
Troubleshoot complex distributed systems issues across WAN/LAN networks involving TCP/IP protocols; optimize network administration for performance.
Ensure compliance with IT infrastructure standards while supporting incident management and incident recovery procedures.
Lead efforts in system testing, software quality assurance (QA), requirements management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience
Proven track record in enterprise software development and deployment within a DevOps environment.
Extensive experience working with cloud computing platforms such as AWS (S3), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure; familiar with SaaS architectures.
Deep understanding of virtualization technologies including VMware and Virtualization platforms like OpenStack.
Hands-on expertise with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack.
Strong background in scripting languages including Bash shell scripting, PowerShell; proficiency in Python or Perl is highly desirable.
Experience managing RESTful APIs & web services for connected vehicle applications; familiarity with microservices architecture is essential.
Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP), DNS configuration, TCP/UDP communication standards necessary for connected vehicle systems integration.
Familiarity with continuous integration/delivery pipelines utilizing Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD workflows; experience with release management is preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems involving Elasticsearch logs analysis or incident response strategies.
Prior experience working within Agile/Scrum teams; excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong communication abilities are required.
