Senior Engineer – Trading Enablement 📍 Location: Boston, MA (Onsite/Hybrid as per client requirement) 🏦 Domain: Asset Management / Investment Management 🛠️ Level: Senior Engineering About the Team The Trading Enablement Team is a high-impact senior engineering group responsible for solving urgent technical challenges and driving strategic initiatives that support global investment operations. Role Overview We are looking for an experienced engineer with a Computer Science degree and direct asset management industry experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, takes ownership of escalated issues, and contributes to mission-critical engineering programs. Key Responsibilities • Resolve high-priority technical issues by investigating unfamiliar problems, researching solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. • Contribute to Global Multi-Batch, a major initiative to modernize overnight processing and enable accurate start-of-day and intraday views of positions, cash, FX, and analytics. • Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and investment operations to design and deliver systems aligned with front-office and middle-office needs. • Engineer across the stack (APIs, databases, services) to improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of trading and post-trade systems. • Share knowledge, mentor team members, and contribute to improving engineering practices. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (strict requirement). • Degrees in other disciplines will not be considered. • Hands-on experience in asset management / investment management (mandatory). • Familiarity with investment data, trading workflows, portfolio systems, or post-trade processes. • 7+ years of software or systems engineering experience. • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design. • Proficiency in .NET, C#, or Java, relational databases, and REST APIs. • Ability to work across unfamiliar systems and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders. Preferred Skills • Experience with Charles River Development (CRD) or similar OMS/portfolio systems. • Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration skills.
