Senior Engineering Manager - Data Platform

Make your mark as a Senior Engineering Manager at Storio group About The Role This is a critical leadership role in our London-based data team. You will lead the effort to build and refine a data platform that accelerates a decentralised data adoption model. Your main focus is creating and leading a high-performing team that delivers trustable, usable data meeting all business needs. How You Embrace Curiosity Daily • You set the technical vision for our data layer initiatives across multiple teams. • You lead the definition and delivery of a new ownership model for the current data platform. • You oversee technical discovery and drive innovation across the technology organisation. • You coach and develop engineering talent, including other people managers and senior engineers. • You steer technical prioritisation, balancing investments like simplification and debt reduction. • You embed and scale standardised engineering practices and operational excellence. • You define the delivery and people strategy at a domain level. How You Make Your Mark • You rationalise the current data platform while building a strategic new one to maximise value. • You achieve measurable improvements in business outcomes through your technical leadership. • You successfully deliver against goals and roadmaps through cross-functional teams. • You partner with the platform engineering team to accelerate building reusable datasets. • You align multiple teams with product and business stakeholders, navigating complex trade-offs. • You set and improve engineering metrics like DORA and delivery KPIs across all teams. What You Bring To The Team • A solid track record of leading and building multiple high-performance data platform engineering teams. • Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams through significant change. • Experience building a platform as a product using agile delivery methods. • Prior experience as a senior platform or data engineer. • Experience guiding teams through complex technical data and analytics engineering decisions. • Excellent communication skills, making complex topics transparent and easy to understand. • Experience navigating a complex, enterprise-wide customer landscape with competing priorities. What Sets You Apart • Knowledge of the e-commerce domain. • A degree in a STEM field like Computer Science or Mathematics. • A strong understanding of data architecture paradigms and their business applications.
