Role description
This role is focused on bridging the gap between an organization's core ERP system and its Power BI reporting environment. The individual will be responsible for transforming large datasets from the ERP into clean, automated, and actionable dashboards that will guide business leadership. Collaboration with various teams will be essential to ensure that the data structures are optimized for performance and that reports load quickly, without impacting the ERP system's production performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement robust ETL pipelines to extract and load data from the ERP system into Power BI.
• Develop complex Power BI data models that support interactive visualizations and reporting for business stakeholders.
• Optimize database performance to ensure reports load instantly, enhancing the user experience for business leadership.
• Troubleshoot slow-running reports by rewriting SQL views and optimizing Power BI models for efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure data governance and security.
Required Qualifications:
• Strong background acting as a Database Administrator (DBA) or Data Engineer with experience in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Highly proficient in writing advanced SQL queries, with a proven ability to optimize for performance.
• Experience navigating and understanding complex database schemas of enterprise ERP systems like NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Deep hands-on experience in building Power BI data models and managing workspaces to create interactive reports.
• Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts, including dimensional modeling and data lake architectures.
