Role description
What if your dashboards didn’t just report numbers — they helped shape the future of learning?
We’re looking for a data storyteller, builder, and strategic thinker to join a company that has inspired generations through books, literacy, and education. This role sits at the intersection of analytics, technology, and business impact — transforming complex data into insights that empower teams across the organization.
If you love solving problems with SQL, building beautiful and intuitive Power BI dashboards, and partnering with stakeholders to turn questions into actionable intelligence — this one’s for you.
What You’ll Do
📊 Build What Matters
• Design, develop, and maintain dynamic Power BI dashboards and scalable data models that support key business units.
• Own dashboard delivery end-to-end — from requirements gathering to deployment on production servers.
🤝 Partner Across the Business
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and translate reporting needs into impactful, user-friendly solutions.
• Work closely with Data Engineering teams to shape optimized data structures and ETL pipelines for analytics use.
🧠 Be the Power BI Expert
• Serve as a subject matter expert within the organization, supporting fellow BI professionals and advancing best practices.
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and process improvements within the Power BI community of practice.
• Monitor Power BI Server performance and proactively address capacity and optimization risks.
🚀 Enable Self-Service Intelligence
• Empower teams through training materials, documentation, and guidance that supports self-service BI adoption.
• Ensure dashboards are not just functional — but intuitive, scalable, and performance-optimized.
What You Bring
Must-Haves
• 3–5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Product roles.
• Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, complex dataset manipulation across major database systems).
• Deep expertise in Power BI: DAX, Power Query, data modeling, visualization best practices, and server deployment.
• Ability to independently build, maintain, and optimize dashboards from concept to launch.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills — you translate data into clarity.
• A proactive, self-directed work style with exceptional time management.
Nice-to-Haves
• Experience with Python (Pandas), Power BI APIs, or Adobe Analytics.
• Background in education, publishing, marketing, or mission-driven industries.
Why This Role Is Different
This isn’t just dashboarding.
It’s shaping the data backbone of a company that impacts classrooms, families, and communities across the country.
You’ll have the autonomy to build.
The visibility to influence.
And the purpose to know your work drives something bigger.
If you’re ready to turn data into impact — let’s build something meaningful together. 📚✨
