Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with strong expertise in data analysis, reporting, and visualisation to join our consulting team. This role involves working within multidisciplinary teams to design and develop interactive dashboards and reports that drive data-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Power BI, SQL, and data transformation tools, as well as a solid understanding of data modelling and visual storytelling. Key Responsibilities Data Modelling & Preparation Develop and maintain data models to support Power BI reports and dashboards. Clean, transform, and prepare datasets for analysis, ensuring data quality and consistency. Identify and resolve data integrity or performance issues across sources. Data Visualisation & Reporting Design and build interactive Power BI dashboards that communicate insights clearly and effectively. Apply best practices in data storytelling, layout, and accessibility. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure dashboards align with business goals. Use DAX and Power Query (M) to create measures, calculated columns, and transformations. Analysis & Collaboration Work closely with analysts, engineers, and business teams to define and deliver data-driven solutions. Undertake data profiling and validation to ensure accuracy in reporting. Present insights in a clear and actionable format to technical and non-technical audiences. Governance & Decision Support Ensure all reports comply with internal data governance and security standards. Use insights to support evidence-based decision-making across projects. Empower colleagues by sharing knowledge and enabling self-service reporting. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports. Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation. Experience in data modelling (star schema, snowflake) and performance optimisation. Solid understanding of data analysis, DAX, and Power Query. Knowledge of Python for advanced analytics is desirable. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
