Senior Power BI & Reporting Transformation Analyst 6 Months contract – Extension long term Contract Location: Remote Job Job description: About The Role • We are seeking a Senior Consultant to lead the reporting optimization workstream for a wealth management client''s enterprise data transformation. • This role focuses on inventorying the client''s existing BI assets across PowerBI, ThoughtSpot, and SSRS, identifying duplicate or low-value reporting, standardizing KPI definitions, and developing a phased reporting modernization roadmap. • The consultant will work closely with the Data Governance workstream to align reporting decisions with metadata and data quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Inventory the client''s reporting portfolio across PowerBI, ThoughtSpot, and SSRS — including reports, dashboards, data sources, integrations, and dependencies • Assess business usage, ownership, and value of existing reporting assets; identify duplicate reporting and optimization opportunities • Define standardized KPI, metric, and reporting definitions across business units • Establish reporting governance, development standards, and ownership frameworks • Assess PowerBI platform readiness and develop a PowerBI consolidation and migration roadmap • Identify legacy reporting (particularly SSRS) for rationalization and define a phased decommissioning approach • Define the target-state reporting architecture and standards in partnership with the Senior Data Architect • Align reporting recommendations with metadata, lineage, and data quality work in the Governance workstream Required Skills & Experience • 7+ years of consulting or internal advisory experience focused on BI, reporting, or analytics platforms • Strong, hands-on proficiency in PowerBI — including platform administration, governance, and migration planning • Demonstrated experience assessing ThoughtSpot deployments, including semantic model design and migration complexity • Experience with SSRS environments, including legacy report rationalization and migration strategies • Track record of leading reporting consolidation and KPI standardization initiatives • Strong understanding of reporting governance, lineage, and quality controls • Bachelor''s degree in business, technology, or related field Nice to Have • Microsoft Power BI certifications (PL-300 or equivalent) • ThoughtSpot platform certification or significant production deployment experience • Prior reporting optimization engagements in financial services or wealth management • Experience integrating reporting with Snowflake as a primary data source • Familiarity with Alation catalog integration for BI assets
