Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior PowerBuilder Developer with over 10 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications in client/server and web-based environments. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in PowerBuilder development, Oracle databases, PL/SQL programming, object-oriented design principles, and enterprise application integration. Experience working in Agile environments and maintaining large-scale legacy modernization projects is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using PowerBuilder (10.xβ12.5/Appeon).
β’ Develop reusable and maintainable components using Non-Visual Objects (NVOs) and Object-Oriented Programming principles.
β’ Perform system analysis, coding, unit testing, debugging, implementation, and production support activities.
β’ Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, joins, and PL/SQL packages in Oracle databases.
β’ Work with DataWindows, OLE integrations, and third-party tool integrations within PowerBuilder applications.
β’ Design and implement scalable application architectures following OOAD methodologies and design patterns.
β’ Develop and consume SOAP/REST Web Services, APIs, XML services, and WCF services.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA teams, and project managers in Agile/Scrum environments.
β’ Participate in CI/CD pipeline implementations and version control management using Git, Jenkins, TFS, or related tools.
β’ Support application modernization, migration, and integration initiatives involving Oracle, SQL Server, Salesforce, and other enterprise systems.
β’ Create technical documentation, test plans, test scripts, and deployment procedures.
β’ Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions for business-critical applications.
Required Qualifications
β’ 10+ years of experience in PowerBuilder development (PowerBuilder 10.x/11.x/12.x and Appeon PowerBuilder).
β’ Strong experience with Oracle Database (10g/11g/12c/19c) and PL/SQL development.
β’ Expertise in PowerScript, DataWindow programming, and NVO-based application development.
β’ Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) principles.
β’ Experience with REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, XML, and WCF services.
β’ Hands-on experience with SQL optimization, stored procedures, triggers, and database performance tuning.
β’ Experience with source control tools such as Git, TFS, SVN, ClearCase, or Serena Dimensions.
β’ Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
β’ Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
β’ Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with Salesforce integrations and data migration tools.
β’ Exposure to ASP.NET, VB.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Angular.
β’ Experience integrating mainframe emulator applications with enterprise systems.
β’ Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
β’ Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting and Perl scripting.
β’ Knowledge of testing methodologies including unit testing, system testing, and load testing.
