β‘ Position Summary:
The Center for Technology & Innovation (CfTI) department is looking for a highly motivated Computational Biologist with expertise in clinical bioinformatics, biomarker development, assay development, ML algorithms and data science, statistical modeling, handling clinical data sets and a background in biology and computational sciences.
π§ Qualifications and Experience:
β’ PhD in Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science
β’ Three or more years of relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
β’ Significant experience in bioinformatics, applied mathematics and or statistics, including linear mixed effects models, to analyze multi-modal, multi-dimensional and large-scale biological data
β’ A working knowledge and experience of Machine Learning and AI technologies.
β’ Experience applying ML and AI in clinical trial settings is a plus.
β’ A working knowledge of platforms and readouts utilized for the assessment of clinical biomarkers including flow cytometry, IHC, NGS, immunoassays, imaging, and transcriptional profiling assays
β’ Ability to translate biological and medical questions into analytical models providing actionable results
β’ Deep knowledge of prostate indications
β’ Programming experience in R and Python and familiarity with tidyverse principles
β’ Familiarity with assay development and qualification requirements for clinical trial support
β’ Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment and drive scientific and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of the group, as well as with the research community
β’ Strong written and oral communication skills, self-motivation, independence, and leadership
πΌ Key Responsibilities:
β’ This is a high-visibility, individual contributor role preferring experience within matrix environments representing the function and requiring the development of methods to support the entirety of the clinical portfolio.
β’ Support the development of clinical biomarkers supporting our organization programs through the formulation and execution of biomarker data analysis
β’ Develop translational informatics analysis workflows in high-content multi-omics, multi-modal, single-cell, and spatial data domains encompassing genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and epigenomics.
β’ Work with biologists, especially in immuno-oncology, to leverage information on targeted biological pathways along with development of computational algorithms to manage and mine internal and external genomics and other high-content databases
β’ Perform assessment of biochemical coverage, patient stratification, indication selection in our organizationβs early and late clinical development programs and discovery of clinical insights at asset and portfolio levels through the application of knowledge discovery and data mining techniques.
β’ Provide leadership and expertise to the function in the areas of algorithm development, bioinformatics, data integration and management, visualization, analysis, and presentation
β’ Interface cross-functionally with the early development teams, assay laboratories, in-vitro diagnostics, and biomarker representatives
β’ Present updates at cross-functional meetings and collaborate closely with cell culture, purification, analytical and formulation development colleagues to meet project timelines.
