Role description
We are seeking a Snowflake Data Engineer with strong SQL expertise to join our data engineering team in a hybrid role based in Virginia. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, Snowflake environments, and analytics-ready datasets. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, data analysts, and architects to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design, build, and optimize Snowflake data warehouses, schemas, and data models (staging, integration, and reporting layers).
β’ Develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Informatica, Boomi, DBT, Matillion, or native Snowflake features (Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks).
β’ Write complex, high-performance SQL and stored procedures for data transformations.
β’ Implement performance tuning for queries, virtual warehouses, micro-partitioning, clustering, and caching.
β’ Manage Snowflake security, roles, RBAC, data sharing, and resource monitoring.
β’ Build and maintain data ingestion frameworks from cloud/on-prem sources (S3, Azure Blob, APIs, relational systems).
β’ Collaborate with data analysts and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
β’ Troubleshoot pipeline and data quality issues; implement validation and monitoring.
β’ Work with CI/CD tools (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) for automated deployments.
β’ Follow best practices for governance, documentation, and quality assurance.

β’ 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
β’ Strong SQL experience (query optimization, window functions, complex joins).
β’ 3+ years hands-on with Snowflake (Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks, Time Travel, Clustering, RBAC).
