Role description
Key Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable data pipelines and dimensional models using Snowflake to support electric utility data use cases. Develop, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows for ingesting and processing large volumes of structured and semi-structured data. Implement and uphold data security, privacy, and governance standards within Snowflake environments. Collaborate with data architects, engineers, and analysts to deliver performant, reliable solutions aligned with business objectives. Write and tune complex SQL queries for data transformation, extraction, and analytical reporting. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance and data quality issues to ensure the accuracy and reliability of enterprise data assets. Automate and orchestrate workflows using dbt, Apache Airflow, or native Snowflake features. Support advanced analytics and data science initiatives by provisioning optimized, well-structured datasets. Stay current with Snowflake platform enhancements and best practices to drive continuous improvement. Qualifications: Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Cloud, including data modeling, performance tuning, and pipeline development. Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL/ELT tools and practices. Familiarity with Python or scripting languages for workflow orchestration is a plus. Experience using dbt, Airflow, or similar data pipeline orchestration tools. Understanding of data security and governance best practices in a cloud environment. Exposure to electric utility datasets and operations (AMI, DER, SCADA, grid sensors) is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
