Job Title: Senior Tableau Developer
Location: Florham Park, NJ - Hybrid (3 Days/Week)
About the Role
We are seeking an exceptionally skilled Senior Tableau Developer with 14+ years of experience in data visualization, business intelligence, and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex Tableau dashboards, data models, and reporting solutions that empower business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
β’ Lead end-to-end BI solution development including requirement gathering, data modelling, dashboard creation, testing, and deployment.
β’ Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
β’ Optimize existing dashboards for loading speed, usability, and performance.
β’ Develop complex calculated fields, LOD expressions, parameters, filters, and custom visualizations.
β’ Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all Tableau reports.
β’ Integrate Tableau with various data sources including SQL databases, cloud data platforms, and APIs.
β’ Establish and promote Tableau best practices, governance standards, and version control.
β’ Mentor junior developers and contribute to strategic BI and analytics initiatives.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data, performance, and visualization logic.
Required Skills & Qualifications
β’ 14+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence and Data Visualization.
β’ Minimum 10+ years of hands-on Tableau development experience.
β’ Strong expertise in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Tableau Prep, and performance optimization techniques.
β’ Advanced proficiency with SQL (joins, complex queries, stored procedures).
β’ Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL pipelines, and data modeling techniques.
β’ Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) is preferred.
β’ Ability to work with large datasets and design scalable BI solutions.
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
β’ Experience working in Agile environments is a plus.
Education
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Additional Preferred Skills
β’ Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics.
β’ Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
β’ Exposure to tools like Power BI, QlikView, Snowflake, Alteryx, or similar BI/ETL technologies.
