Role description
Job Summary:
An industry-leading healthcare technology organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Three-Dimensional Data Scientist to join its growing digital science team. This role focuses on advancing three-dimensional imaging technologies by validating capture systems, developing innovative digital endpoints, and applying machine learning techniques to complex three-dimensional data. The ideal candidate combines expertise in data science, computer vision, and three-dimensional rendering with a passion for scientific innovation and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the validation of three-dimensional facial capture systems to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and clinical relevance.
• Design and execute validation pipelines using photogrammetry-rendered three-dimensional images.
• Develop statistical methodologies to evaluate capture fidelity, geometric precision, and landmark reproducibility.
• Document validation findings and communicate technical results to both technical and business stakeholders.
• Design, prototype, and develop new three-dimensional digital endpoints for facial analysis applications.
• Transform three-dimensional mesh and imaging data into meaningful computational biomarkers and measurable outcomes.
• Build, train, and evaluate machine learning models using three-dimensional meshes, point clouds, and photogrammetry datasets.
• Benchmark model performance and optimize algorithms for robustness and scalability.
• Establish best practices for three-dimensional data preprocessing, quality control, feature extraction, and reconstruction workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering, clinical, product, and regulatory teams to develop scientifically validated digital solutions.
• Research emerging technologies in three-dimensional computer vision, neural rendering, and digital biomarkers.
• Promote reproducible research practices and continuous improvement across data science workflows.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Vision, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Three or more years of professional experience in data science or machine learning.
• Strong programming experience using Python.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
• Hands-on experience working with three-dimensional meshes, point clouds, depth maps, or photogrammetry data.
• Experience using professional three-dimensional modeling or rendering tools such as Blender or Autodesk Maya.
• Knowledge of statistical validation methodologies and experimental design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's or Doctoral degree in a related technical discipline.
• Experience with medical imaging, aesthetics, dermatology, or digital health applications.
• Knowledge of photogrammetry tools such as RealityCapture or Agisoft Metashape.
• Experience with Open3D, trimesh, or geometric deep learning frameworks.
• Experience developing digital biomarkers or clinical endpoints.
• Knowledge of three-dimensional facial landmarking, shape analysis, and surface reconstruction.
• Experience with Git, MLflow, DVC, or cloud-based machine learning environments.
Benefits:
The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safe time, hours of paid vacation time, weeks of paid parental leave, and paid holidays annually – as applicable.
Pay Range: $65/hr to $75/hr
