Role description
THRS is seeking a candidate who possesses some or all of the following skills to support both the technological and operational advancement of the county's transit system. Whether your background is in Applied Statistics and Machine Learning or Project Control and Grant Oversight, this position offers the opportunity to drive innovation within the Department of Public Works and Transportation.
Core Responsibilities
We are looking for a professional capable of managing priorities across two critical domains:
1. Data Analytics & Transit Technology
• System Management: Manage and update the Clever CAD/AVL system and utilize Remix for transit scheduling and planning.
• Visualization: Design and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
• Advanced Analytics: Transform and model data from multiple sources for AI use cases, including traffic logs and weather data.
• Technical Support: Troubleshoot transit software issues and serve as a primary liaison between the IT department and program clients.
• GIS Support: Produce maps for bus priority corridors, microtransit, and routing plans.
1. Program Coordination & Capital Projects
• Project Planning: Facilitate transit capital and facilities project planning, including scope definition, budgets, and schedules.
• Compliance & Grants: Support grant oversight and reporting to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
• Operational Oversight: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), perform cost/schedule risk management, and assist with financial reporting.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, as well as community advocacy groups.
• Documentation: Maintain organized project archives using SharePoint and prepare executive-level presentations.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in one or both of the following areas:
• Technical Background: Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), GPS tracking, automated data collection, or machine learning.
• Management Background: Proven track record of managing complex initiatives, earned value progressing, and project validation.
• Communication: Ability to succinctly distill complex technical topics for non-technical or executive audiences.
• Operational Skills: Experience in field data collection (geo-coding bus stops) and organizing community stakeholder meetings.
