Role description
Weβre looking for a hands-on Lead Wi-Fi QA Engineer to join a highly collaborative team focused on testing and validating next-generation Wi-Fi and IoT devices. This role is ideal for someone who can balance technical depth with leadershipβsomeone confident in guiding projects, mentoring others, and still rolling up their sleeves to test, analyze, and troubleshoot complex wireless systems.
Youβll work alongside other engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure Wi-Fi performance, reliability, and standards compliance across a range of connected devices and environments. The team is actively interviewing, so this is a great time to get involved.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Lead Wi-Fi QA testing efforts for new and existing device platforms.
β’ Design, plan, and execute white-box testing focused on Wi-Fi protocols, throughput, and connectivity performance.
β’ Perform packet captures and analysis using tools like Wireshark to identify, debug, and resolve network or RF issues.
β’ Validate 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax features, including security modes, mesh networking, and Wi-Fi 6e/7 performance.
β’ Collaborate with software, firmware, and RF engineering teams to drive quality improvements.
β’ Document test results, create clear issue reports, and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
β’ Contribute as a senior individual contributor, while providing technical guidance to peers and supporting broader project direction.
Must-Have Skills
β’ Deep understanding of Wi-Fi protocols (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and related standards.
β’ Experience with Wi-Fi security modes, mesh networks, and Wi-Fi 6e / 7.
β’ Proven ability in packet capture and analysis using Wireshark or similar tools.
β’ Hands-on experience in Wi-Fi performance testing (throughput, latency, connectivity).
β’ Strong knowledge of IoT devices, RF fundamentals, and general networking concepts.
Good-to-Have Skills
β’ Basic scripting (Python, Bash, etc.) to automate test cases or data analysis.
β’ Familiarity with embedded Linux systems troubleshooting.
β’ Experience presenting technical findings to leadership or executive stakeholders.
β’ Exposure to basic RF test tools or measurements.
