Role description
Infrastructure Server Migration Engineer – Separation Programme Location: London | Hybrid (2–3 days on-site) Contract: 6 months initially Rate: £600 per day (Outside IR35) I’m partnering with a global enterprise brand seeking an experienced Infrastructure Migration Engineer to play a pivotal role in a large-scale M&A separation project. This is an opportunity to get hands-on with complex server, cloud, and data centre migrations within a hybrid environment. The Opportunity You’ll be responsible for end-to-end migration delivery across Windows and Linux platforms planning, executing, and validating secure transitions to new infrastructure. Working alongside cloud, security, and network teams, you’ll ensure smooth cutovers, compliance alignment, and minimal downtime across each migration wave. What You’ll Do • Lead and execute server migrations (physical, virtual, and cloud-based). • Manage Active Directory separations, OU restructuring, and Azure integration. • Deploy and support Azure Arc, Defender for Cloud, and hybrid management tools. • Enforce security baselines and ensure compliance across all systems. • Coordinate migration activities, produce documentation, and track progress. What You’ll Bring • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server (2016–2022) and/or Linux administration. • Solid understanding of Azure IaaS, Active Directory, and virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V). • Knowledge of networking, identity, and security fundamentals. • Proven experience in M&A separations, infrastructure carve-outs, or data centre migrations. • Excellent communicator with a collaborative approach and strong documentation skills. Bonus Points For • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Windows Server Hybrid Administrator • CompTIA Security+, ITIL v4, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Kubernetes certification
