Description: We are seeking a skilled Shell Scripting Developer with strong expertise in Unix shell scripting, automation, database connectivity, and log troubleshooting. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python), automation of services, and monitoring using Splunk. Responsibilities: • Scripting & Automation: • Develop and maintain Unix Shell scripts for automation and service management. • Perform advanced text processing for data extraction and manipulation. • Create and maintain scripts for database connectivity (SQL • Plus) to query and handle data. • Automate various services and operational tasks as per project requirements. • Develop utilities using MQ, Perl scripting, and Python scripting for automation purposes. • Integrate Oracle SQL queries within scripts to automate data processing and reporting. • Identify and optimize long-running SQL queries during troubleshooting. • Database Operations: • Write and execute SQL queries based on business requirements. • Perform DB connectivity and validation during automation workflows. • Handle troubleshooting for database performance issues. • Splunk Monitoring: • Write Splunk queries to capture errors, performance metrics, and specific details based on requirements. • Design and maintain Splunk dashboards for system monitoring and analysis. • Application Troubleshooting: • Validate and analyze application logs to identify and resolve issues. • Review and validate script flow to ensure correct functionality. • Manage incident resolution: raise tickets and follow up with the respective teams. • Understand client-specific processes, such as firecall, process ID creation, and escalation procedures. • Operational Support: • Work with basic tools like Autosys and cloud logging utilities. • Manage application components like MTS, MCAS, and CC for start/stop/restart validation and log verification. • Monitor and troubleshoot MTS RGW - EOD application reports. • Check for trapped Entia processes, troubleshoot, and perform diagnostic captures (jstack, pstack, and HND of trapped process logs). Required Skills & Technologies: • Unix Shell Scripting (advanced) • Text Processing (advanced) • Perl Scripting • Python Scripting • Oracle SQL / SQL • Plus • Automation of Services and Processes • MQ Utility • Splunk (Queries and Dashboards) • Application Troubleshooting (Logs & Scripts) • Autosys / Cloud Logging Tools Preferred Knowledge: • Exposure to MTS, MCAS, CC, RGW EOD, and Entia processes. • Understanding of client support processes and ticketing systems. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Good communication and coordination abilities.
