Job SummaryWe are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shopify Template Builder to join our innovative e-commerce development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, customizing, and optimizing Shopify themes to create engaging, user-friendly online storefronts that drive sales and enhance customer experience. Your expertise will help translate client visions into visually compelling and technically robust digital stores, ensuring seamless integration with various tools and platforms. Responsibilities
Develop and customize Shopify templates using Liquid (Shopifyβs templating language), HTML, CSS, SCSS, and JavaScript to meet client specifications.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and web design mockups into functional e-commerce websites that are visually appealing and highly responsive.
Implement best practices for web design, SEO, and accessibility to optimize store performance across devices and browsers.
Integrate third-party apps, APIs, and web services to enhance store functionality, including payment gateways, analytics tools, and marketing platforms.
Conduct thorough testing of templates across different browsers and devices; troubleshoot issues related to front-end code or system architecture.
Maintain version control using GitHub or SVN; utilize CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
Document development processes, user flows, and technical specifications; support clients during the launch phase and provide ongoing updates as needed.
Experience
Proven experience building Shopify themes from scratch or customizing existing templates with a strong portfolio of e-commerce projects.
Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3 (with SCSS), JavaScript (and frameworks like Angular or React), jQuery, TypeScript, Bootstrap, and AJAX.
Familiarity with Shopifyβs Liquid templating language, Shopify API integrations, and web services such as RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
Knowledge of system architecture principles relevant to scalable e-commerce platforms; experience working within Agile SDLC methodologies.
Hands-on experience with version control systems like GitHub or SVN; familiarity with DevOps practices including Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.
Understanding of SEO best practices, web design principles, UX/UI fundamentals, wireframing tools, and responsive web design techniques.
Experience working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or SQLite; knowledge of data visualization tools is a plus.
Ability to work efficiently in Linux environments; familiarity with Docker containers and automation tools like Ansible is advantageous.
