Job Title: Slack Migration Engineer
Job type: Contract
Location: Edison, NJ (100% Remote)
Primary Responsibilities
β’ Migration Leadership: Lead or heavily support complex migration projects involving collaboration tools, cloud services, or various enterprise applications, with a focus on a seamless transition to Slack.
β’ Slack Subject Matter Expert (SME): Act as the organizational expert on Slack, managing workspace configurations, channel structures, user provisioning, integrations, and overall platform governance.
β’ Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts (using Python, Shell, or PowerShell) to automate repetitive administrative tasks, monitor system health, and streamline user lifecycle management (onboarding/offboarding).
β’ Troubleshooting & Support: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Slack integrations (e.g., with Jira, GitHub), data migration, and user experience/adoption challenges.
β’ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with application owners, DevOps teams, security, and end-users to ensure successful adoption and proper configuration of Slack and integrated tools.
Technical & Automation Skills
β’ Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash (Shell), or PowerShell for task automation and system monitoring.
β’ Familiarity with structured data formats: REST APIs, JSON, and YAML.
β’ Experience with other collaboration and development tools like Jira, Confluence, and GitHub (integration experience is highly valued).
β’ Preferred: Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and general cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Preferred Qualifications
β’ 6+ years of experience in IT Operations, DevOps, or Collaboration Platform Engineering.
β’ Certifications in Slack Administration or major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
