Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Data Engineer to work remotely from anywhere in the US supporting our Austin, Texas client's data modernization and analytics initiative. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Snowflake, including ETL pipeline development and data model construction. This role will work closely with stakeholders, IT / Data Ops data engineering teams, and BI technical leads to build a scalable, reliable, and insightful MTF data model and provisioning solution.
Responsibilities Include:
Snowflake Data Engineering & Modeling:
• Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines in Snowflake.
• Design, develop, and optimize Dynamic Tables, Streams, Tasks, etc.
• Build and maintain data models, including dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and curated datasets.
• Implement best practices for data quality, data governance, and performance tuning within Snowflake.
• Collaborate with data engineers to integrate new data sources into Snowflake.
• Design and implement extraction and loading using Open Flow Analytics & Reporting:
• Develop high-quality MTF Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights.
• Partner with business users to translate requirements into analytical solutions and visualizations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Support project managers and business partners by providing clear data insights and documentation.
• Communicate findings, trends, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and prioritization discussions as needed.
Requirements:
• Snowflake Snow Pro certification
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or related role.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, including SQL, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
• Strong Snowflake data engineering experience (dynamic tables, streams, tasks, etc.)
• Proven ability to convert business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred:
• Experience working with Snowflake Open Flow
• Knowledge of data governance principles.
• Background supporting public sector or large enterprise projects.
• Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance frameworks.
