Role description
Role: Snowflake Developer
Type: Contract
Location: 100% Remote
The candidate should have a semiconductor background and be ready to support PST hours.
Requirement Analysis & Collaboration
• Collaborate with Intel Product Owners, Solution Analysts, and Scrum Masters to understand business requirements, clarify technical needs, and define data solution expectations.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups.
• Provide technical inputs during requirement discussions to ensure feasibility and alignment with Snowflake best practices.
Design & Architecture
• Develop detailed technical design and specification documents, including data flows, table structures, transformation logic, and integration requirements.
• Translate functional requirements into optimized Snowflake schemas (staging, integration, and presentation layers).
• Ensure adherence to architectural standards and security best practices.
Snowflake Development
• Design, develop, and optimize complex stored procedures, UDFs, and SQL scripts within Snowflake.
• Build and maintain Snowflake pipelines, including tasks, streams, and Snowpipe.
• Implement end-to-end ETL/ELT processes using Snowflake and supporting tools (dbt, Python, Airflow, Informatica, etc. — optional depending on your stack).
• Perform SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and data pipeline efficiency improvements.
Testing & Deployment
• Write unit test cases and participate in integration/system testing.
• Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipeline configurations.
• Troubleshoot issues, resolve defects, and ensure high-quality delivery within sprint timelines.
Documentation & Support
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for all developed solutions.
• Provide production support, investigate incidents, and implement long-term fixes.
Required Skills & Experience
• 3–7 years of experience as a Snowflake Developer.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, virtual warehouses, roles, RBAC, data sharing, and micro-partitioning.
• Hands-on experience creating complex stored procedures, SQL scripts, UDFs, and ETL/ELT transformations.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and performance tuning.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Ability to create detailed technical specifications and design documents.
• Experience integrating Snowflake with data pipelines or orchestration tools.
