Role description
Job Title: Snowflake Senior Engineer Location: Hybrid - Cincinnati, OH (Onsite 2-3 days/week) Duration: 6 Months (with potential for extension or conversion to full-time) Job Type: Full-Time (W2) Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Senior Engineer to join a dynamic, globally distributed team. The successful candidate will support the development and maintenance of a robust enterprise data platform utilizing Snowflake and related technologies. This role involves collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation and scaling of Snowflake-based data solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and maintain data models and data pipelines on Snowflake. • Optimize performance, scalability, and security of data platforms in Snowflake. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop ETL/ELT processes and integrate with other enterprise systems. • Participate in data architecture design, working with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals. • Ensure high availability and operational efficiency of Snowflake platform by proactively identifying issues and opportunities for improvement. • Develop documentation and processes for continuous platform improvements. • Work closely with Cloud Engineering teams to manage and integrate AWS services. • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and solutions related to Snowflake and AWS integration. Must Have Qualifications: • Snowflake Certified or AWS Certified (AWS Data Engineering or similar). • Extensive experience working with Snowflake (cloud data warehousing) and AWS technologies. • Hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL, and data pipelines in Snowflake. • Solid understanding of data engineering best practices, including scalability and optimization. • Strong programming/scripting skills (SQL, Python, etc.). • Proven ability to work in a distributed team environment. • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders and team members. Work Schedule & Time Zone: Full-time hours (US EST time zone). Hybrid work model: 2-3 days per week onsite in the Cincinnati, OH office. Justification: This position is a backfill for a contractor who was released early. It is critical for the ongoing support and scaling of the enterprise data platform. Potential to Convert and/or Extend: Yes, this position has potential to convert to a full-time role or be extended beyond 6 months, based on performance and business needs. Preferred Qualifications: • Strong experience with AWS services (Redshift, Glue, Lambda, S3, etc.). • Knowledge of data governance and best practices in data security and privacy. • Familiarity with DevOps tools and workflows for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
