Role description
Snowflake SME 100% Remote Contract Role Overview We are seeking a Snowflake Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Architect with proven expertise in data platform architecture, migration, and optimization. The ideal candidate will hold relevant Snowflake certifications and have hands-on experience in migrating large-scale data workloads from AWS to Snowflake. This role requires strong technical leadership, solution design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end migration of data platforms from AWS to Snowflake. Architect and design Snowflake data warehouse solutions aligned with business needs. Ensure best practices in performance tuning, security, and cost optimization. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define requirements. Provide technical leadership and SME guidance on Snowflake capabilities. Document architecture, workflows, and migration strategies for transparency and reusability. Stay updated with Snowflake advancements and recommend improvements. Required Qualifications Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core, Advanced Architect, or equivalent). 8+ years of experience in data engineering / data architecture, with at least 5+ years focused on Snowflake. Proven experience in AWS-to-Snowflake migration projects. Strong knowledge of AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, etc.) and integration with Snowflake. Expertise in SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data modeling. Familiarity with security, compliance, and governance frameworks in cloud data platforms. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Skills Experience with Python, Spark, or DBT for data transformations. Knowledge of BI/Analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker). Exposure to multi-cloud environments and hybrid data strategies.
