Role description
Job Title: Snowflake and SQL Server Developer Location: London, UK Work Mode: Hybrid (on-site & remote) Contract Duration: 12 months Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Snowflake and SQL Server Developer to support, maintain, and optimize database systems and data pipelines across multiple environments. This role involves working on Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, and Kafka platforms, focusing on data governance, remediation, migrations, and performance optimization. Key Responsibilities Provide support, maintenance, and remediation for Snowflake and SQL Server databases. Manage incident response and daily operations monitoring across Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, and Kafka systems. Handle service requests (user creation, data access, audit reporting, etc.). Implement and manage security and user access frameworks. Support patching, disaster recovery (DR), and change management processes. Perform database provisioning, maintenance, and administration. Identify and execute performance tuning and optimization initiatives. Implement and manage data archiving, purging, and monitoring frameworks. Maintain configuration management and documentation for database systems. Drive cost monitoring and optimization, particularly around Snowflake and Azure resources. Support migrations from Oracle/ODS to Snowflake (via ODI). Lead CRM and DR data migrations to Snowflake to reduce legacy dependencies. Develop and support file loading and automation frameworks (including SSIS packages). Manage observability dashboards in Datadog and optimize storage utilization. Support SSIS package migration, legacy job maintenance, and server decommissioning. Collaborate on Azure SQL dependency reduction by transitioning data to Snowflake. Produce daily database health reports and implement table partitioning strategies. Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and SQL Server (including SSIS). Proficiency in ETL design, data modeling, and performance tuning. Familiarity with Oracle, Kafka, and ODI integrations. Experience with database governance, user access control, and auditing. Knowledge of Azure, Datadog, and cost optimization techniques. Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Nice to Have Experience with CRM and DR data migration projects. Prior work in data observability or monitoring solutions (e.g., Datadog, Grafana). Exposure to cloud cost optimization in Snowflake or Azure environments.
