Software Database Engineer

Payrate: $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Summary: The main function of a Software Database Engineer is to establish system information requirements using analysis of information in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems. Responsibilities: • Designs architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces • Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for agency IT architecture, and profiles of standards as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems, and the external interfaces • Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action • Provides daily supervision and direction to staff Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred • 0-2 years’ experience required • Experience with broad technology delivery, including custom development using various development languages • Experience with providing technical leadership, mentoring software engineering design, development, and frameworks, analyzing alternatives, and presenting technical options to leads and clients • Experience with driving technical planning and solutions for small software portfolio, including authoring or managing the development of software designs, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations • Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments • Requires practical experience and training Desired Skills: • Knowledge on SQL performance concepts, SQL diagnostics, scripting in C/C#/PowerShell • Knowledge of test analysis, regression identification, and problem‐solving approaches. Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $35.00 - $40.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
