Job Description:
We are seeking a Software Package Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Windows system administration, enterprise application packaging, scripting, and Active Directory and a proven ability to deliver stable deployments, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term remediation.
Responsibilities:
Create, maintain, and optimize install packages and deployment scripts for enterprise applications.
Administer Windows systems, services, scheduled tasks, profiles, and NTFS file shares with least-privilege practices.
Manage users, groups, and devices in Active Directory and support domain authentication.
Lead problem management efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
Monitor systems proactively and investigate logs to prevent incidents.
Collaborate with stakeholders, document technical procedures, and follow change and release processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
7+ years of relevant enterprise IT experience. Ideal 8β12 years.
Windows administration including profiles, services, scheduled tasks, and NTFS file shares.
Deep knowledge of NTFS permissions and least-privilege security practices.
Active Directory experience using ADUC for users, groups, and devices.
Understanding of domain authentication and basic network troubleshooting including firewalls and ports.
Root cause analysis using Event Viewer, ProcMon, environment variables, and Process Explorer.
Log investigation and proactive monitoring experience.
Experience leading problem management and implementing long-term fixes beyond break-fix.
Experience with CAD software deployment requirements (e.g., NX, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).
Ability to create install packages and automation scripts for deployments.
Strong scripting in BATCH and Perl.
Experience with GitHub for version control and documentation maintenance.
Application lifecycle rigor across requirements, design, testing, and production deployment.
Change control and release management experience with risk mitigation focus.
Strong documentation, written and verbal communication, and stakeholder engagement with conflict resolution.
Self-motivated and technically curious with a record of identifying risks and driving continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills:
Virtual machine management and optimization.
PowerShell scripting.
C, C++, or C# development experience.
Working knowledge of GPOs and Windows Server.
Enterprise application packaging and deployment experience.
Familiarity with structured problem management and governance practices.
Bachelorβs degree in a STEM field preferred, or equivalent enterprise experience.
Microsoft certifications: SC-300, AZ-800/AZ-801, or SC-200.
